Youth Convention 2022 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

We are glad to announce that Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi successfully conducted a Yuva Sanmelan / Youth Convention to celebrate the “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” in the light of Swami Vivekananda on 7th August, 2022, (Sunday). This convention was a part of the year-long initiative taken by government of India to commemorate the completion of 75 years of Independence of our beloved Mother Land.

It was a full day programme from 9.00 A.M to 3.45 P.M with more than 160 youths participating from about 13 differentSchools and Colleges of Digboi Township and adjacent areas. The programme was organized at Ramakrishna Mission Digboi premises.

Shrimat Swami AchyuteshanandaJi Maharaj, Trustee Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur math and Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar, Arunachal Pradesh took the Presidential Chair. Swami Vedasarananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Dibrugarh and Smt. Barnali Hazarika, Vivekananda Vidyalaya H S School Digboi, were present as guest honor.

The program started with offering flower at the feet of Swami Vivekananda’s portrait followed by lighting of the lamps and Vedic chanting. The guests were then welcomed and felicitated by Swami Arunatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi. “Swadesh Mantra” of Swami Vivekananda was chanted by all the students. A strong motivational letter of Swami Vivekananda to his disciple Allasinga Perumal was read before the audience. The participating students started their performance which included inspiring speech, singing of solo / group patriotic songs, performing short motivational drama on religious harmony in India, inspirational dances and Yoga show. In between a Guided Meditation was also conducted by Swami Vedasarananda and the respective guests also shared their thoughts on the above to inspire the youths of Digboi in Character and Nation building programme as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda. Breakfast and Lunch was served to all.
